Uk-based baker extraordinaire Lily Vanilli (yes, this name is apparently real) has created a bloody cake that is sure to make some stomachs turn. The “Bleeding Hearts” cake is completely edible, made entirely out of red velvet sponge cake or blood-red cocoa cake, topped with blackcurrant and raspberry “blood” coulis. Yikes. Sounds a lot better than it looks, right? The mini versions are available for order during Valentines Day. Cakes this freaky are sure to find themselves in music videos, and so it’s no surprise that the Bleeding Heart was part of the music video for “Carnal Love” by Irish alternative rock band, Ash. Maybe we should have saved this post for Halloween? We’re still not sure if we’re grossed out or impressed. Maybe both?
